II SEMINAR ON EUROPEAN POLICY & CULTURAL HERITAGE CONSERVATION

.

Before dealing with energy efficiency in an integral way, many institutions and organizations responsible for the preservation of heritage have prepared interesting briefings with technical guidelines to be able to go deeper into the subject and that are very useful. At the same time, many organizations have developed innovative solutions in the use of new technologies which are very beneficial. We are aware that in many scenarios, associations and professionals have looked for solutions adapted to climate. We consider this of great interest. This information is necessary because it demonstrates the recovery of traditional techniques and solutions which are in perfect harmony with the characteristics of the historical buildings. They are cheaper and have less impact than radical changes that do not fit with the criteria of authenticity that heritage needs. Our purpose is to collect these experiences and technical innovations and disseminate them. We aim to create a document that could help to make the European administration aware of the specific demands of historical buildings. The document should also be used to recommend a network of support for these initiatives.
